Brief Summary
Helen is a compelling character, and her story was fascinating to follow, including the limitations of the time period for women, her own decisions and exile, and the way she has built her life and skills outside of society’s expectations. The only thing I wanted more of in the story was the beginning – while some aspects such as her relationship with Edith and the way she has worked beyond the Brotherhood are mentioned with the basics of how they began, I would have loved to see and experience these things more. This is the nature of the shorter format that we miss some of those particular components though. It would also be great to have even more Helen’s stories in the future, and I hope that this book won’t be the end of her or this world.
