Absolutely, positively, go get the first part of this double-barreled story, Alien’s Host. You’ll be blown away and think things couldn’t get more original or steamier, but then they do, when you read Alien’s Vice. You’ve never read a menage romance like this one. It’s a taut mystery thriller as well as a provocative and mind-bending take on alien culture. There’s an emotional intensity from start to finish that made me stop occasionally to catch my breadth. Everything heroine Layla Oberman understood about the world and herself was turned upside down when she molded with an alien Visitor, Kuthil Ash Kharn, ten years before the current story opens. During that time, she has come to terms with Kak, the “shard” of her alien lover who coexists in her body and inhabits her lucid dreams. But now Kuthil Ash Kharn is back on Earth, a different person in some ways but agonizingly familiar in others, and he’s brought the potential for a world of hurt with him, not just for Layla and Kak, but for all of Earth’s inhabitants. It’s a nail-biting quest for love and life as Layla must navigate her way through yet another new reality.
Brief Summary of Aliens’ Vice
Layla, the female human lead, and Kak, the male alien lead inside her body, have come to terms and are successfully living together after a decade. Layla has made a whole business out of assisting the aliens who’ve come to Earth but she’s shocked to learn that Kuthil Ash Kharn, the male alien external lead, has returned to Earth. He’s inadvertently brought a new problem though – another alien who is killing humans – and he’s trying to convince Layla that she does want him permanently… This story is tri POV, well written, and a strange alien possession ménage, with a male partner physically within Layla’s body as well as an external partner. This story is definitely unique. I haven’t read anything like it. The plot was interesting. I enjoyed the life that Layla and Kak had established and the peace and pleasure they shared. I enjoyed the way all three had to work through challenges of establishing a relationship this unique. I understood each character’s feelings. I also found the secondary story regarding aliens influenced by Kuthil Ash Kharn’s sharing on his home planet interesting.
