Just finished reading part three of this wonderful series, first time I’ve read any of Georgina’s books and I must say she is now one of my favourite authors ,Georgina brings everything to life ,I’m reading the words and its like everything comes to life. The characters, places, emotions, this series has it all, and this author has a wonderful talent, I honestly feel like I have spent time with all the character’s I’ve been reading about, I have read all the books so far in this series, book 4 will be out in 2021,so I’ll be able to spend more time with my friends on the Boardwalk by the sea.
Brief Summary of the Book
Lexi Davies loved living in her village, surrounded by her friends, she was kept busy managing three holiday cottages belonging to her family. One day was stunned to discover that her Dad had sold them without telling her, leaving her homeless and unemployed. What was worse was that it was the new owner, Oliver Whimsy who broke the news, she had met him previously and didn’t like him much. As the story progressed there was a serious fraud and a conniving woman with a history of conning lonely men, it had the ingredients of an interesting story but it never materialised. There was too much detail about everything, except the romance, for example we heard about how she stripped the beds, put the sheets in the washing machine, too much unnecessary information which detracted from the story. Then because it was winter there was a lot of time given over to the weather, rain, snow and ice, it was riveting. However, there was no romance, a couple of meals, a couple of walks, the odd kiss and that was it. It was just bizarre. It felt like a 60s style story, before interesting personalities and passion were a normal part of a storyline. There must be a target audience for this type of story judging by the reviews but I’m in my 60s and it is definitely not me. You may also like The Charismatic Cowboy by Macie St. James
