Lewis, Kim and their teenage son Cole invite Ryan, Nicola and their eleven year old daughter Emily for three days break at their affluent holiday home in Scotland for three days. Kim and Nicola were friends from back in their University days. Ryan and Lewis do not hit it off at all and come to loggerheads on more than one occasion due to each of them envying what the other one has until their wives have to step in and stop them in their tracks. I love the way Daniel describes Scotland and I felt as though I was there with them all listening to the birds, feeling the excessive downpour of rain and the beautiful surroundings like the forest. There are more secrets than answers as the story unfolds into an amazing sequence of events. I could not put this book down as it was an amazing thriller.
