This was my first book by Jenni Bara and it was so much “More Than Fine”! This book was like a warm lava cake–a solid, rich, and sweet story around a molten hot and delicious center. I loved the writing, the characters, and the plot. My heart ached for Trish. The fierceness in which is protects her children and her traumatic past are so heart wrenching. But I loved watching her grow, too. She starts off as a skittish horse, jumpy and untrusting, then slowly unravels from her past with Grants help. The way he compels her to trust him is so beautifully and subtly written that you almost miss the transformation. It’s perfection! Grant is the exact kind of book boyfriend I love. He’s outwardly a bit of a grump but such a teddy bear inside. The way he is with Katie?! Omg, I could read those parts over and over again. The way she falls in love with her ‘Dada’? Gah, just tear out my heart, right now!
