First I have something I want to say..I have loved each and every single book up to now in this series. Yes there emotional and you might need tissues. In each book they bring us laughter, they bring us tears, but so much more. That’s what Ms. Curtis does in each of her books. It’s ok. She delivers in each of them with the essence of family….Small town tight knit community love for each other. You can’t get better then that.
Life is about ups and downs. Life is about funny and tears. Life isn’t perfect. That’s something about these two characters I loved. They both have scars inside, and out too. Brief Summary of the Book
This is a book that takes you from sad to happy and from hopeless to hope-filled. Kathy Harris is an single mom and an alcoholic who wants a second chance with her son. When Dylan O’Brien comes to Harmony Valley to help train the new colt Chase, Kathy and Dylan form a tenuous bond based on trust, Little does Kathy know that Dylan is not all he seems, that he is keeping a secret that could destroy their new friendship. The stories in this series just keep getting more and more absorbing. With realistic problems, the characters face challenges in life with temerity but with a desire to conquer their fears and move on toward a better future. I really enjoyed getting to know Kathy and Dylan, but I especially loved the portrayal of the colt Chase and the small overweight dachshund Dolly. The author did a great job of personifying the animals, giving each of them a personality that suited their temperament and their past. I really liked the enigma that was Phantom, the horse that had injured Dylan and caused him to lose his self-confidence. The way he gets it restored is a beautiful story of acceptance and love. The entire book is one that is easy to read in one sitting and beckoned me daily to return to this heartwarming tale of redemption. With a fast pace and a captivating plot, this is an excellent book that is a feel-good romance without a lot of steam and heat to distract from the main story of flawed characters who need to find their way in life.
