Demonic Prince is a fantasy romance between a half-incubus and a dragon shapeshifter. Pyrah is a dragon, living her life in solitude with the occasional dragon-slayer encounter. When Rook infiltrates her cave and kidnaps her, he triggers her first heat. Struggling with the influx of unfamiliar hormones and the indignity of her captivity, Pyrah attempts to free herself however she can. As the two travel together, they get to know each other, and Rook proves himself to be honorable and caring for a kidnapper. Rook’s quest brings the two of them under the attention of the purportedly evil queen and Pyrah finds herself having to choose between following her dragon upbringing or helping Rook. Kincy does an excellent job providing an interesting fantasy world which clearly has a rich background, though we don’t get to experience all that much of that history. Characters have clear cultural identity and norms, and the most fascinating aspects of the book come from tensions for cultural differences.
Brief Summary of Demonic Prince
This was a very entertaining spicy, Enemies-to-Lovers PNR. It was refreshing to read about a female dragon shifter and an Incubus. This story had Humor, Action, Steam. Pyrah and Rook was as different as night and day but they made the story work. This story had the right amount of spice, plot and character development. As the story progressed you could see how Pyrah and Rook’s relationship began to shift from one of loathing to that of two individuals looking out for one another. This couple had a lot of mishaps and misunderstanding but in the midst of everything the story didn’t lose steam or get boring. Good character development, decent world building, all around entertaining short read.
