I knew going into this book I was going to feel all the raw pain that came with the previous book. But ohhh my how this chapter 1 started! I didn’t see that coming. I was mixed emotions for sure. I kept looking for an apology from Arulius! That’s for damn sure. Regardless I legit couldn’t put this book down when I first started reading. Seeing Elodie so broken so closed up hurt. The fact that she was slowly dying inside. Missing her friends. Missing the girl she once was. One who can trust and love. Now here we are reading her story pan out. Seeing how much she is breaking. My heart cracked Everytime she mentioned her broken organ. I loved reading about the new characters her new friends such as Namine! Ahh i love her and seeing that little sapphic moment namine has….so dang cute. That for sure warmed my heart. When Rune came into the picture omg I was swooning! How could a character break down my own walls. Aww I love him! I think seeing how broken he was along with Elodie was such a harmony of pain I didn’t think I realized I would love this much. There were so many things Rune says that I just kept highlighting and thinking he is so perfect. But as I read my heart still was somewhat guarded as we may have learned our lesson in book one. I think seeing that this book opened up more along the “why choose aspect” oof that was something.
Because seeing all of this love ahh I was obsessed.
