This book was a fun, exciting action filled read that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens with these two characters. Rocco has been an enforcer his whole life working as a soldier in the middle east then as Medici Mafia enforcer. He has no time for women or anything else until a beautiful hacker and her little dog enter his life. Sloane is a huge asset to the Medici’s and Rocco has been set as her protector. he becomes more and more attracted to her as time goes on but tries to push it away. Sloane has taken care of herself for so long that she doesn’t put up with his crap and stands her ground with him. The banter is fun and exciting. This book is filled with action, danger, protective alpha males and sexy steamy times. I have loved this whole series and was so excited to see that Rocco and Sloane got their own book. when Sloane’s past comes back to haunt her Rocco goes into full protective mode and will burn the world down to keep her safe. For a big bad enforcer, he can be caring and loving with Sloane. This book was perfection from the first chapter till the ending. These characters will find a place in your heart very quickly.
Brief Summary of Fortress of the Damned
This is book 5 in the Medici Mafia Series. Although each book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading in order as you will see several couples from the previous books in this one. Reading in order will help avoid spoilers from the other books and you will understand who each of the characters are and their backstories. Rocco and Sloan are such an incredible couple. Each for their own reasons but together they are unstoppable. Rocco has a very tough exterior but is a big softy inside. His background in the military and his job for the Medici’s keep him very closed off. When He meets Sloan, all bets are off and he just can’t stay away. Sloan has had some unfortunate incidents and she feels she only need Charlie….No that is not a man but her adorable little puppy. I fell in love with Sloan and Rocco. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is fantastic. Their dirty talk is even better…wink wink.
