This is part of the Heartlanders series. It can be read as a standalone, but the other books in this series are so amazing, you’ll definitely want to read them! I am not sure if I ever felt so much when reading a book. I literally teared up more than once. Powerful, wonderful…. Sadie is at the destination wedding week long event for her sister Sam. There she encounters not one, but two former boyfriends. But she only still has strong feelings for Shep – her first love. Unfortunately, the strong feeling is not love, not after he broke her heart. And Shep is still having conflicting strong feelings for Sadie. We learn through flashbacks their history and it is powerful, beautiful, poignant. I loved, loved, loved this book!!!
Brief Summary of Things I Wrote About
This is the third book in a series about five sisters. It’s about Sadie and Shep, who took the long route to their HEA. We’re talking crushes to friends to lovers to enemies and back to lovers. I don’t usually like flashbacks in books but they were definitely necessary for this story. I loved the sisters together—Cool Runnings!—and I appreciated the vulnerability shown by the author in sharing part of her real story with us. I will say that although it was a great read, I didn’t like this book as much as the previous two. While I liked the story, the writing was a bit hard to follow and unpolished, and everything kind of went off the rails in the epilogue just to set up the next books.
