This book is the continuation of Greta and Emiliano’s story. The first book ended on a cliffhanger and must be read in order to understand what is going on. Greta is dealing with a loss of memory and being told she is having mental issues. She is told by Sebastian that they are married yet gets flashes of someone else. Sebastian is a horrible person and while Emiliano was also not great to her either, he wasn’t a horrible person like Sebastian. It was wonderful to read about Emiliano accepting the fact that he does love Greta and will go to the ends of the earth to find her. The story has violence and some pretty descriptive torture events. There are some pretty steamy moments in the story, I didn’t think there were as many scenes as the previous story, but they were just as intense as the previous book. There is of course suspense, will Greta and Emiliano end up together? This book was not dark like the first one, there were some really sweet moments. I thought it was a wonderful addition to the Roma Mafia series.

The Roma’s Promise is a continuation of the first in the Duet series, The Roma’s Claim by author Shae Coon. These novels tell the story of Mafia Don Emiliano Calvano and his pursuit of Greta White, a member of the Conti Crime Family who must pay for the sins of her ancestors. Book 1 ended with a cliff hanger as to Greta’s fate at the hands of her kidnapper while Emiliano wildly and frantically searched everywhere to find her and bring her home. The plot is ingeniously laid out with more twists and turns than a roller coaster! Their story is not for the faint hearted or squeamish and be warned there are issues of mental illness and involuntary hospitalization as a result. I could not put this book down! You cannot miss this intricate and compelling story of two people who have been through their trials at one another’s hands, only to have their world explode again by sinister forces determined to destroy them!
